The Department of Rehabilitation and Correction has openings available for career oriented individuals interested in the professional field of corrections. A variety of vocations exist, including: corrections officers, social workers, clerical support, psychologists, account clerks, librarians, maintenance, nursing, teachers, food service and other specialized services that are necessary to maintain our prison community.
Corrections officers make up the largest group of employees and provide services including supervision of inmates in living, dining and work areas as well as transportation of inmates. Corrections officers are assigned to one of three shifts, and have two consecutive days off each week.
The Division of Parole and Community Services also has a need for quality, career oriented individuals. Positions include parole officers, clerical support, parole program supervisors, Parole Board hearing officers and Parole Board members. Parole Officers in the field supervise probationers, parolees, or other offenders under the supervision of the Adult Parole Authority and provide counseling, employment referrals, and rehabilitation plans.
