Prisons Director to Announce Top Correction Officer at Annual Ceremony
COLUMBUS – Gary Mohr, Director of the Ohio Department of Rehabilitation and
Correction (DRC), will be joined by Lt. Governor Mary Taylor on Friday, May 4,
2012, to announce the agency’s top Correction Officer of the Year. This
annual ceremony is held each May to recognize Ohio’s 27 correction officers who
have been selected as the top officer at their prison. Those individuals
are automatically in the running for the top honor to receive the Ronald C.
Marshall Award. The Ronald C. Marshall award recipient is selected through
an interview process conducted by a panel of past recipients.
DRC is honored to have Lt. Governor Mary Taylor as the keynote speaker for
this event. Taylor was sworn in as Ohio’s 65th Lt. Governor in January
2011. Lt. Governor Taylor leads Ohio’s “Common Sense Initiative” and is
the Director of the Ohio Department of Insurance.
The event is scheduled to begin at approximately 11:45 a.m. and the Lt.
Governor will be making remarks at approximately 12:00 p.m. Media wishing

Directions to the site from Columbus:
Take I-71 South to the Orient/Harrisburg exit (Exit 94).
Turn left at light (State Route 62). Bear left at the "Y" (Stahl Road).
Follow Stahl Road through the town of Orient. At first stop sign, turn left.
Road dead-ends into State Route 762. Turn left onto SR 762 then an
immediate right onto the Orient Correctional Complex. Turn left at 4-way
stop and follow road past DRC Employee Recognition and Memorial Park. Continue
going straight at next 4-way stop and follow road to Corrections Training
Academy parking lot.
