COUNTIES RECEIVE STATE FUNDS FOR CONSTRUCTION/REPAIRS OF COMMUNITY BASED CORRECTIONAL FACILITIES
COLUMBUS - Reginald A. Wilkinson, Director of the Department of Rehabilitation and Correction (DRC) today announced that $11,710,065 of capital funds will be given to the following counties for Community Based Correctional Facility (CBCF) programs:
Clark County $2,754,000 to build 80 additional beds to the existing 80 bed regional facility which serves Champaign, Delaware, Logan, Madison, Morrow, and Union counties.
Jefferson County $117,000 for paving, sidewalks and building repairs.
Lucas County $280,000 for additional classroom space and building repairs.
Montgomery County $767,000 for completion of a second floor expansion project which will increase the facility to 200 beds.
Scioto County $2,065,500 to build 60 additional beds to the 60 bed CBCF under construction. The Scioto county facility will serve Adams, Brown, Clinton, Highland, Lawrence, Pickaway, Pike, Ross, and Scioto counties.
Seneca County $2,409,750 to build 70 additional beds to the existing 50 bed facility. The Seneca County facility will serve Ashland, Crawford, Erie, Huron, Ottawa, Richland, Sandusky, Seneca, and Wyandot counties.
Stark County $998,325 to build 24 additional beds to the existing 91 bed facility which serves Holmes, Stark, Tuscarawas, and Wayne counties.
Summit County $2,273,490 to build 40 additional beds to the existing 100 bed male facility and 26 additional beds to the existing 60 bed female facility.
Trumbull County $45,000 for a parking lot and additional landscaping.
The Ohio Department of Rehabilitation and Correction has made a major commitment to Community Based Correctional Facilities. This partnership between the state and counties in Ohio is working well and is providing local sentencing sanctions for Ohio's court systems.
