New Warden for Madison Correctional Institution

(Columbus)-Reginald A. Wilkinson, Director of the Ohio Department of Rehabilitation and Correction (DRC) today announced the appointment of Alan J. Lazaroff as warden at the Madison Correctional Institution (MaCI). He will replace Ernie Moore who is leaving DRC for a position with the Department of Youth Services. This appointment will be effective May 8, 2000.

Lazaroff, 40, is currently warden at the Orient Correctional Institution, a medium security facility in Orient. Warden Lazaroff began his career with DRC in 1986 as a program analyst in the Division of Parole and Community Services. He served as the Labor Relations Officer at MaCI from 1987 through 1989. Lazaroff also held the position of Chief Inspector and served as staff counsel for DRC. He was the first warden to serve at the Corrections Medical Center in Columbus.

Warden Lazaroff obtained a Bachelor Degree in Political Science from State University of New York at Binghamton. He received his Juris Doctorate from the Ohio State University in 1986.
