Warden Appointment Announced

(Columbus)-Reginald A. Wilkinson, Director of the Ohio Department of Rehabilitation and Correction (DRC), announced the appointment of Mark Saunders as Warden at Hocking Correctional Facility. Mr. Saunders will replace Janis Lane, who will retire after 30 years of state service.

Mark Saunders currently is Deputy Warden of Operations at Madison Correctional Institution. In addition, Saunders has served in such capacities as deputy warden of special services and deputy warden of administration, to name a few. Mr. Saunders earned his Bachelor of Science Degree in Criminal Justice from the University of Texas at El Paso in 1983.

Ms. Lane has been Warden at Hocking Correctional Facility since 1994. She was also Superintendent of DRCís Corrections Training Academy for seven years.

"Mark Saunders is a corrections professional who will serve in a committed manner as Warden at Hocking Correctional Facility," said Director Wilkinson. "I also congratulate Janis Lane on her retirement from the Department of Rehabilitation and Correction."
