Warden and Staff Appointments Announced

(Columbus)-Reginald A. Wilkinson, Director of the Ohio Department of Rehabilitation and Correction (DRC), announced the appointment of Wanza Jackson as Warden at Dayton Correctional Institution (DCI). Ms. Jackson will replace Gerald Huffman, who will become Vocational Director for DRCís Ohio Central School System.

Jackson, 37, was most recently Deputy Warden of Administration at Warren Correctional Institution (WCI). She began her corrections career in 1989 as a personnel officer with WCI. In 1985, Jackson earned her Bachelors Degree in Business Administration from the University of Cincinnati and a Masters Degree in Criminal Justice from Xavier University in 1992.

Prior to being appointed to the position of Vocational Director, Mr. Huffman was Warden at DCI since 1996. He was also Warden at Montgomery Education and Pre-Release Center. Gerald Huffman earned his BA in Political Science from Ohio Northern University and his Masters in Education from Wright State University. As Vocational Director, Mr. Huffman will be responsible for the 100 plus vocational programs that are found throughout Ohioís prisons.
