Ohio Correctional Education Association Announces Teacher of the Year

(Columbus) – The Ohio Chapter of the Correctional Education Association  (CEA-O) has selected Mike Frazier as the 2006 Teacher of the Year.  Mr. Frazier was acknowledged with this award at the CEA-O Fall Conference in September.

Mike Frazier began his career at the Grafton Correctional Institution in 1999 as an automotive repair instructor.  In 2001 he moved to Richland Correctional Institution where he established the new Auto Collision Repair program. 


“Education is a core component to successful offender reentry,” stated Ohio Department of Rehabilitation and Correction Director Terry J. Collins.  “Mr. Frazier has exhibited his commitment to providing inmates with a valuable skill that can help them gain employment upon their release from prison.”


Mr. Frazier is a Master ASE (Automotive Service Excellence) Certified Technician and holds an additional six ASE certifications in Automotive Mechanical Repair.
