(Columbus) – The Ohio Department of Rehabilitation and
Correction (DRC) held its annual Memorial Service which pays tribute to those
who have lost their lives in the line of duty and recognizes employees that have
retried after years of dedicated service to the Department.
“The Memorial Service this year is not only in
recognition of those who have retired or were lost in the line of duty, but we
are also recognizing the strength and resolve of all of the employees of this
agency,” stated Director Reginald A. Wilkinson.
“Staff have continued to display professionalism and dedication to
getting the job done despite the many challenges they have had to face this
year.”
The ceremony today included a twenty one-gun salute in
honor of those who have made the ultimate sacrifice while carrying out their job
duties. This marks the twelfth year
for the Memorial Service, which is held at the DRC Employee Recognition Park
located on the grounds of the Orient Correctional Complex in Orient, Ohio.
