The Clearview School operates on the grounds of the Ohio Reformatory for Women (ORW) located in Marysville, Ohio. ORW serves an average of 2400 minimum, medium, close and maximum security inmates. The Clearview School is proud to commit to the following educational programs:
The Ohio Reformatory for Women (ORW) is pleased to announce that the Clearview School offers Construction Building Trades through a Youthful Offenders Apprenticeship Program Grant. Students enrolled will participate in job skills training and personal development classes with one of three sub grantee agencies provided under the grant (Cincinnati Urban League, Hard Hatted women and Youth Build). During these classes, employment skills training, resume writing and other workshops enhance the apprenticeship experience. This connection is a key factor in building marketable skills and establishing positive relationships with job counselors, case managers and other service providers to make reentry a smooth transition.
Students had to pass the following examination procedures: Hair Shaping (30 minutes); Thermal Curling (10 minutes); Hair Coloring (10 minutes)—Retouch and Virgin; Chemical Relaxer (Virgin Relaxer) 10 minutes; Shampoo (15 minutes); Permanent Wave (15 minutes); Pin Curls/ Rollers (15 minutes); Basic Manicure (20 minutes); Facial Massage (10 minutes), including a 110 multiple choice question test. All students passed the State Board Exam with high scores. A 95% was the highest on the written portion of the exam, and 90% was the highest score in the Practical. The day was a success and very productive.
